Adams State College is a small state-supported college of liberal arts, which is located in Alamosa, Colorado, U.S. It was established in 1921 as a teacher’s college; however, nowadays, it offers a great number of different degrees and different fields.
The campus of the college is not very large, somewhere about 90 acres in its size. The main building of the college administration is situated in Richardson Hall; the name is given in the honor of the first president of Adams State College, Dr. Ira Richardson. Richardson Hall also includes all the facilities for the music department, newly constructed theatre building, and art department.
The William Porter Math and Science Hall is named after the alumni William Porter, a creator of the E-trade.
Within the walls of Adams State College one can also two gyms, five on campuses apartments, three traditional dorm complexes.
Athletics is a well-developed field as well. “Grizzlies” is a college sport team, which is considered to be quite famous. They are rather competitive participants of NCAA’s Division II, and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The following athletic groups are opened to all the students of Adams State College: Basketball, Cross-Country, Golf, Football, Softball, Wrestling, Indoor Track, and Filed, Outdoor Track and Filed, Soccer, Volleyball.
